Concept Design of SPM

Offshore Energy
Concept Design of SPM

We develop the concept design of terminal buoys based on the custom requirements of our clients for various flow rates, tanker sizes and operating environments. The following advanced engineering analyses are usually performed as part of the concept design.

Multi-Axis Stability

Intact and Damage Stability of the buoy is established for various axis under the weather-waning hawser loads.

Hydrodynamic Analysis

Hydrodynamic analysis based on the operating draft, weight distribution, radius of gyration and wave heading is performed to generate the responses of the buoy in all 6 degrees of freedom with a special consideration to the entrapped mode of the central well.

Motion Control

Motions of the buoy is minimised based on the rigorous hydrodynamic investigations by providing central well baffles and optimally sized skirts.

Mooring Analysis

Appropriate mooring pattern is developed for the buoy for the connected and disconnected scenarios through extensive multi-body dynamic mooring analysis.

Product Flow Analysis

The product piping system of the SPM is designed by means of extensive flow analyses to meet the typically demanding flow rate requirements.
